Jazzercise - Ballet Body
Reviews from VideoFitness
I'm not sure what this workout had to do with "Jazzercise" except for the name. The music wasn't especially "jazzy" nor was it classical ballet music -- more like "pop-rock." And (after having done several other workouts with gorgeous outdoor settings) the plain indoor setting was a little boring -- but at least it was pleasant and bright. That being said, this was a decent ballet-style toning workout with a nice blend of standing and mat work. The warm-up was followed by some very nice arm and leg work (attitudes, tondus, etc.), Pilates-style abdominal work, and a lovely cool-down stretch. The instruction was divided into four sections, with each of the three instructors taking the lead at different times (the warm-up instructor was back for the cool-down.) I especially liked how they showed different variations of a move - an easier modification as well as a more advanced variation (i.e., the same move done in releve, or adding a plie, etc.)
All-in-all, I enjoyed this short, to-the-point ballet toning workout, but labeling it "Jazzercise" is just confusing.
