This is a nice 50 minute circuit training workout, even though it's titled "Crosstraining". It contains about 3-5 minutes of low impact, basic aerobic moves with about 3-5 minutes of basic lifting, sometimes with compound moves sometimes just upper body. There are form pointers shown as well. I would say this is a beginner to intermediate circuit workout with beginners being quite challenged. You could easily add impact if you prefered to increase intensity. I think there was some modifications shown for impact moves, but I'm not positive.

The music reminds me of 80's dance type music and I'd swear I heard a Madonna song but the majority of it was instrumental. The music is not typical "aerobics" music, it's kind of funky or dancy. The background is colorful and they are on what appears to be a stage or wooden floor.

There are three people in the video, Sarah and one man and one woman in the background. She talks to them while they are working out, things such as "how are we doing back there" and such. I felt the video quality was good as well.

It seems to me that this tape was an advertisement for the "soft hands" weights that they used in the video. They used very light weights, I'd say about 3lbs, but you could reasonably use somewhat heavier weights than they did because the lifting is basically two counts up and two counts down.

All in all, a well rounded but somewhat dated circuit training workout.

Instructor Review

She is a very knowledgeable instructor and comes accross very professional without beig overly dry.
